NPCs

NPCs are a vital part to any RPG, and almost every RPG has them. They help progress the flow of the game as well as provide extra depth and entertainment. Helbreath, like any other MMORPG, is no different. There are a few NPCs strewn here and there but interaction with them is somewhat limited. Most have straightforward abilities such as selling and buying from you items and such. Below is a list of all the NPCs in the game, where you can find them and how they can contribute to your quest. Knowing who to turn too is half the battle...
William, the Cityhall Officer
Found In: Cityhall
The Cityhall Officers are responsible for things like:
- Giving out Citizenship
- Organize quests
- Awarding prize gold
- Awarding Hero capes
- Giving contribution points
- Changing Citizenship from Civillian to Combatant
At level 5, you can request citizenship from William, if you wish to remain a traveler, you can only level to level 19. To receive prize gold, you must kill criminals or enemy citizens.
When you have killed 300 enemy citizens, you will be awarded with a Hero's Cape, a special town cape with the symbol of your town on the back. You can also talk to the City Hall Officer to receive quests, finishing a quest grants you contribution points. Talk to the City Hall officer for prize money or experience points for finishing a quest.
You can also change your play mode from 'Civilian' to 'Combantant' and back to 'Civilian' by talking to Bill. You can do this as many times as you wish. Level 100+ remain 'Combantants'.
Tom, the Blacksmith Keeper
Found In: Blacksmith
The Blacksmith lets you buy weapons and armor as well as repair them. To repair a piece of equipment, drag your armor or weapon over the blacksmith, let go of your mouse, and click on the 'repair' option.
Anne, the Shop Keeper
Found In: Shop
The Shop Keeper sells clothing, food, potions and other items. She sells robes and headgears for mages, and is the only one that can repair clothing and robes.
Howard, the Warehouse Owner
Found In: Warehouses
Howard, the Warehouse owner stores your items for you and lets you withdraw them when you need them. Drag your items over the NPC and select the 'deposit' option. To withdraw items, click on the Warehouse owner and select the 'withdraw' option.
Kennedy, the Guildhall Officer
Found In: Guildhall
Kennedy is in charge of all Guild buisnesses. To make a guild, you must be a citizen of the town in which you wish to start your guild, you must be in Civilian mode, level 20, and possess 20 CHR (charisma) stats. People of your town can join your guild by buying Guild Admission tickets. They can leave the guild with a Guild Sucession ticket, to leave a guild, drag and drop the Guild Sucession ticket onto the Guildhall Officer.
A guildsmaster can reserve an arena from the Guildhall Officer for 1500 gold, for 1 hour. After reservation, the guildsmaster can take 50 tickets and give them to people; double click on the tickets to enter the arena.
Gandalf, the Wizard
Found In: Wizard Tower
The old magician Gandalf will teach you spells and incantations, if you have enough intelligence (INT) and some cash $$. If you have accidentally lowered you Magic skill to 0%, talk to Gandalf and he will restore it to 20%.
Guards
Found In: Recall Pads
Guards patrol the recall pads of both towns, and will viciously defend their areas. Guards have magic as well as a very long crit range with their halberds. They are quite tough and never back down from defending their town. Most guards are anti-physical and are hard to kill. You can summon a guard by casting poison in town, although be warned the guard will attack the caster.
Devlin, the old mage
Found About: Warehouses
Devlin is an old mage who mutters about various hints with the most recent updates. While he might be found talking to himself, some of his hints and crazy ramblings might help you find out something you didn't know.
Perry, the town maiden
Found About: Town Shop
Helping Devlin with telling people about the updates, however she likes to tell people about whats been added to the shop.
McGraffin, the town's local boy
Found About: Town Blacksmith
Like the Perry, he helps Devlin with informing people about the recent updates to the game, his hints however relate to the blacksmith.
The Mob, Boss of Crimes
Found About: Rumours say he lives in Abaddon
It's rumoured that he grew up abandoned in Abaddon. Toughened by the harsh environment, it's said that his youthful look is a curse by a Frost who froze his body clock. The Mob arose in the Sleeping with the Fishes event and enjoyed the fear and paranoia that the Gold Carp has now brought about the lands of Helbreath.
Not much else is known about The Mob. His assistant Lucy "Cookie" Koo is very tight lipped when it comes to her boss, not letting any one know how it is she talks to him or where it is he is now. Some even believe that The Mob is Lucy with a false persona.
Lucy "Cookie" Koo, the curious journalist (active in forums)
Found About: Not known
Once an Elvine mage with a passion for fashion, Lucy Koo was always seen styling in the cutest of cute! She was a killer when it came to Player Vs. Player action, feared by all who came against her.
Once her reputation reached The Mob she was contracted by him to take down selective people. During the Sleeping with the Fishes event, she reported on it keeping players up to date with the most recent happenings.
Her nick name "Cookie" came about from her other passion, cookies. She often has cravings for cookies and would frequently be seen munching away on a cookie... or two. Trails of cookie crumbs would be seen around the shop floor causing Anne, the Shop Keeper a lot of distress.
